AN AUSTRALIAN FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS, WHITLANDS ENGINEERING HAS EARNED AN UNRIVALLED REPUTATION FOR THE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE OF QUALITY MACHINERY FOR THE FIREWOOD INDUSTRY. IN AN EXCITING DEVELOPMENT, FROM MID 2023 WHITLANDS ENGINEERING HAVE PARTNERED WITH CARTA EQUIPMENT TO BRING OUR RANGE OF MACHINERY TO THE USA.
The Superaxe™ WS3150 is our mid-sized block splitter, and is the perfect solution for splitting larger volumes of firewood for farms, hire, or small commercial operations. The WS3150 features fast cycle times, robust construction, a larger work bench, a 440lb capacity hydraulic block lifter, and a two-hand control system. A Honda 9hp engine is fitted as standard (Honda 13hp also available) delivering an impressive 21 tonnes of splitting power and a 6.5 second cycle time with auto-return. The WS3150 can be optioned with a 12’ fold-out elevator and a road towing kit.
The WS4150 Superaxe™ is suitable for domestic use and semi-commercial operations. The cutting head, larger than our smaller models, is offset to better utilise bench space and to make wood handling easier for the operator. With 26 Tonnes of splitting power and fast cycle times, this machine can produce up to 2 cords per hour. The WS4150 Superaxe™ comes standard with an electric start engine, 440lb capacity hydraulic block lifter, road registration kit, and can be optioned with a 12’ outfeed elevator that can be folded for transport. “T” blade and “X” blade options are also available on this model.
Designed for commercial operations, the Rex 600 features an efficient 3 tooth-blade splitting system built into a compact, towable processor. Blocks are loaded via a powerful hydraulic block lifter and the 16.5 feet fold up outfeed elevator makes stockpiling or loading simple.
The Rex 600X incorporates the same firewood splitting system as the standard Rex 600, yet features an inbuilt hopper that holds 1 cord of blocked timber. A conveyor belt feeds the blocks directly to the operator essentially halving labour requirements. Two-handed controls ensure safety and the standard 5m outfeed elevator also includes a griddle.
The REX 900 sets the standard for maximum output, capable of splitting and loading up to 4 cords per hour with only one operator. Featuring a fully automated moving cutting floor, the REX 900 is fully self -contained and portable and features a large infeed hopper, fuel efficient Deutz engine and world-class hydraulic system.
The Rex Log Buster is a truly impressive innovation, designed to split large logs down the middle. The Log Buster is operated from the cab of a 20 ton (or more) excavator, producing up to 90 tons of splitting force. The blade has a travel speed of almost 4″ per second and can split logs that are up to 10 feet long.
The REX 650C circular saw performs extremely well on a wide range of logs, especially dirty, dry, bent, uneven or partially hollow logs. The 28 tungsten tooth x 5 feet diameter blade is driven by a fuel efficient 70hp Yanmar engine. On average the 650C will complete 10-12 cuts per minute for 16" - 2" logs. The REX 650C is also capable of cutting multiple smaller logs utilising a dual clamp system.
The REX 800 makes turning logs into blocks an easy task. This firewood docking saw is a very productive, hydraulic drive chainsaw, capable of cutting up to 32" diameter logs using a 43” harvester bar with 3/4” chain. Designed to work in conjunction with a processor like the REX 600X or REX 900, this machine cuts logs into blocks safely & efficiently, out feeding the blocks via the elevator.
The REX 1050 is the ultimate machine for turning large logs into firewood. The REX 1050 is the big brother of the REX 800, utilising a 48” harvester bar, larger log infeed, larger trough and larger out feed block conveyor. Driven by a 50hp Deutz diesel engine, all built into a standalone, towable unit, the REX 1050 is able to handle logs up to 41" in diameter.
